  JW's do this in prisons as well and they've been doing it in hospitals for a long time. I'd rather be told I could live on a paradise earth than burn in hell. Although, depending on which day it is or who you're sharing a hospital room with that might not be the case.

  Funny thing is: I've heard many a story of non-Witnesses who don't want blood transfusions say they are witnesses to their doctors so they will use other methods. And if a witness goes and talks to that person, because the docs say they are a witness too, lo-and-behold they are not. Very strange.

  Have you noticed that the Mormon and JW websites try to appeal as looking "normal" and "mainstream"

  for instance look at the mormon website versus jw.org.

  they both look colorful and try to paint themselves as "normal everyday people" and they don't fully explain all there beliefs for obvious reasons.

  I was hoping they went with more of a Sex Pistols driven vibe, but I think I'll be waiting a long time for that one. Even Public Image Ltd would suffice. Anger is an energy you know.

  JW.org Email Service - Now I've Seen EVERYTHING!!!

  maybe i'm late but i just discovered that elders now have an email service run on the jw.org domain name.. those emails might contain a treasure trove of very sensitive material regarding rape, molestation, pedophilia cases etc.. the cult keeps getting creepier and creepier.

  why would they do that in this day and age, lots of damning stuff in one place?.

  It's simply coming up into the technology of the 21st Century. This simply replaces letters mailed out. It's saving a lot of trees, which I'm all for!!! And there is no "secret" treasure trove of info there. It's elder correspondence which they've always done through the U.S. postal service before this.

  why report more partakers?

  of all the threads here about the number of partakers increasing, i don't recall theories as to why they report this.

  they could stop reporting numbers altogether or lie.

  instead they say, in essence, "our teachings about end times and heavenly hope are still wrong"..

  I do remember when the dwindling number of partakers was supposed to be a sign that the end was near.

  I would have to go back and look and see where are the lands where the biggest increases in anointed have come from? Is it across the board, or it is in land's where people are not that educated?

  I don't think the brothers at Bethel know who everyone individual is and I highly doubt "they let him continue" as a judge, because one day he might become useful to them. They've probably never heard of him. Also, if he isn't a servant then you're not held under the microscope the same way.

  Again, this thread and others get carried away by emotion rather than logic. He's a judge and a witness. Technically, this isn't an issue in witness-land. Anyone know him personally? If not how can we impune his integrity?

  guys,.

  don't tell the elders, buuuuut, i sorta kinda maybe never contributed money....ever..... i always thought - hey, i give a lot of my time and energy to the org, so that's how i contribute.

  i was also pretty stinkin poor for most of my life and didn't really have the money to give.. anyone else like me?.

  I always gave when I took literature. If there was a special need in the hall I would give for that. I also gave money privately to those who were in need or were going where the need was great. I always donated in cash.

  My parents really, really gave a lot. They also gave loans to those in need, gave money to those who were poor, gave several of their cars they were going to trade in to those who had little money, cooked thousands of meals for brothers and sisters through the years, and donated probably way more than they should have because they are so big-hearted.

  I was raised as a witness in the 60's and 70's and to tell you the truth it was a hell of a lot of fun. We went camping in big groups in my Kingdom Hall 3 or 4 times a year. White water rafting. We had Sunday meetings outside at peoples homes (if they had big yards). There were big get togethers where they invited 3 or 4 congregations. As a child it was a lot of fun.

  As a teenager it became much more difficult, because you had your heart pulling you one way and your head the other way. If I could go back I would do everything differently now. But that is true with just about everybody once they live life and see what worked and what did not work. I think it basically comes down to this: were you parents nuts? or did they have their head's on straight? I made my own bed. They were my decisions. I have nobody to been for my successes or failures but me. I wish I had a time machine. But I don't.

  My father always told us kids the following: It's your life. Use your conscience and do what you think is right. I never felt I had a gun pointed to my head.

  The guy was mentally ill. He had Schizophrenia and had a break with reality. It's not really a subject to joke about. This is no different than the African-American who the police shot last week whose parents called the police on, and when they arrived at the house the guy had a screwdriver in his hand and they shot him, because he walked out the parent's front door when they told him to stop. Both of these episodes are extremely sad and the police need to be better trained on how to stop people who are having schizophrenic breaks with reality. Several members in my family have schizophrenia and they literally have no idea what's happening to them when it overcomes them, they hear voices telling them to do crazy things, and they cease being themselves.

  You should feel bad for this man. I don't think it's appropriate to make light of his situation when it cost him his life. Mental illness is a societal issue that spans all races, creeds, and religions. Have a heart will ya?

  i am sure that president obama's saying today that mandatory voting in the usa would be a good thing is going to get the witnesses all excited as they look forward to being persecuted for not voting.

  just another sign showing how deep we are into the times of the end and how close they are to burying billions of people who don't read the watchtower.. sour grapes .

  The Republicans are in power. Mandatory voting isn't happening. The far ring passed almost 500 laws in the last few years making it harder to vote. They don't want it easier to vote!
